KUHO, Samsung C&T Fashion Group’s women’s apparel brand, announced on the 12th that they will open the first flagship store in Hannam-dong, Seoul, the center of cultural contents for arts, music, and lifestyle, to share the brand’s identity to pursue total lifestyle beyond clothing and reinforce communication with customers.

In Hannam-dong, many apparel brands, including COMME des GARCONS, Theory, Lansmere, Beaker, and COS, as well as music and arts brands, such as STRADEUM, Vinyl & Plastic, Music Library, L Store, Leeum, and Blue Lounge, along Hangangjin Way.
With the growing number of younger customers in their 30s, it is picked as the first target area for premium design brands.  It is also a very hot place as the sites for the apartment complexes for the U.S. officers will be replaced with premium housing complexes.

KUHO has created a 3-story 628㎡ (190 py) flagship store from B1 to the 2nd floor with emphasis on a ‘house’ to exhibit the brand identity of contemporary minimalism pursuing total lifestyle beyond fashion. KUHO has combined space, colors, and materials to uphold the philosophy of ‘Well-balanced, Quality-based.’

The B1 level has turned into a luxurious home of KUHO with a dress room, powder room, and dining room and displays KUHO’s entire collection along with tableware, living, and beauty products.

The 1st floor is a young studio filled with KUHO’s accessories and reasonably priced young and contemporary line. The 2nd floor is a minimal showroom for exhibitions, customer classes, and various events.

To attract new and younger customers, KUHO has launched a cost-effective exclusive line called ‘ARTISAN’ to collaborate with contemporary artists. The first collaboration partner of KUHO is Paul Cox, a famous artist from France.  He has created posters for Paris City Hall and Opera House, designed the stage for The Nutcracker the Opera (2005), and held an exhibition at the Pompidou Center.

KUHO has released collaborative products with Paul Cox to celebrate the opening of its first flagship store and Paul Cox’s sophisticated artwork and typography will be printed on KUHO’s t-shirts and eco-bags.

KUHO has also presented exclusive items for Hannam Flagship Store opening.  The fabric and leather goods, including seasonal pillows with colorful hues, eco-bags, pouches, and cosmetic cases, are PB products designed by KUHO. Also, urban, neutral scent of ‘KUHO’ has been developed with OBAN UNION, a local perfumery, to release diffuser and candle products.

“We are planning to further our branding work based on the flagship that represents ‘KUHO-ism’ of KUHO, active in Korea and abroad,’ said Manager Jung Hee Yoon of Women’s Apparel Division.”  “As the commercial sphere of Garosu-gil has expanded to Serosu-gil, we hope that KUHO can settle as a new landmark at Hannam-dong which also expected to expand.”

The 2nd-floor showroom of KUHO’s Hannam Flagship Store holds Paul Cox’s first exhibition in Korea from October 12 through 29.
