At an official showcase held at Incheon’s Samsan World Stadium on the 19th Cheil Industries, the official apparel sponsor of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, introduced seven different types of uniforms to be worn by various officials of the games including referees, the Organizing Committee staff, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) members and award presenters. In total, Cheil Industries will provide 40,000 pieces of 23 specially designed items—suits, shirts, ties etc.—of its 8Seconds brand of clothing, the leading SPA brand in Korea, for the games.

* Along with the Chinese brand 361°, Cheil Industries was appointed as an official apparel sponsor of the “2014 Incheon Asian Games” for which it has signed an official apparel sponsorship agreement on the 12th of May 2014.
To produce uniforms for the Incheon Asian Games, Cheil Industries formed a special task force even before signing the official partnership agreement and has carried out the uniform project for over a year. 8Seconds, the leading SPA brand in Korea, has designed the official uniforms of the Incheon Asian Games using the Games’ official colors of red, green and blue. The results are garnering positive reviews stating that the uniform designs are sophisticated and future-oriented.

In particular, the suits are made of a unique functional fabric specially developed by Cheil Industries for the success of the Games. The suits will neither wrinkle nor deform even when worn every day. Elasticity has also been added in consideration of the wearers’ activity levels. By maximizing fit and comfort, Cheil Industries official uniforms are expected to make a big contribution to the success of the Games.

Director Sohn Eun-kyung of Cheil Industries said, “Cheil Industries has dedicated itself to producing uniforms for the success of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games. Since it is a sports festival where all Asians become one, the company focused on creating harmony between fashion and functionality to demonstrate the beauty of Korean style and Incheon hospitality to the world, while moving away from the conventional design practice of creating uniforms that simply classify occupations. The uniforms to be worn at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games will feature sophisticated fit and beauty with state-of-the-art functional fabrics and smart three-dimensional patterns.”

* Cheil Industries has received rave reviews by successfully fulfilling its role as the official uniform sponsor for the 2006 Doha Asian Games and the 2012 Yeosu World Expo as well as being the official apparel partner for the 2002 Busan Asian Games.
