8Seconds enters COEX,
a Mecca of youth and fashion
Opening ceremony for COEX store, the first to be opened this year, held on March 1
Aiming to attract customers in their 20s & 30s by strengthening men’s and women’s business casual lines

Will offer various promotional events including an in-store fashion show complete with catwalk and photogenic award
 
With the opening of a strategic store in COEX following Garosugil, Myeong-dong and Gangnam, 8Seconds is accelerating its move to dominate key fashion business districts.
 
On the 27th, 8Seconds, a specialty private label retailer of Samsung Everland’s fashion division, announced the opening of a flagship store covering 1,188m2 at the ground floor entrance of COEX Mall (Millennium Square) in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu (Seoul) on March 1.
 
Symbolizing youth and fashion, COEX is a strategic hub of the fashion industry that embraces customers from the Bundang, Seocho and Jamsil areas. In fact, the floating population is as large as that around the Gangnam Station district. In addition, COEX is well known as a hot place where young people with purchasing power enjoy culture and leisure activities.
 
The COEX store, 8Second's first for 2014 and 26th to date, will position itself as a total fashion spot offering all fashion items ranging from denims and casual wear to business apparel and accessories for both men and women.
 
This year, 8Seconds reorganized its product lines by subdividing them according to age and purpose. The strategy is to satisfy the needs of customers in their 20s and 30s with high purchasing power by increasing the percentage of basic and key products while expanding the men’s and women’s business casual lines.
 
8Seconds offers trend-leading products and displays new products weekly so that customers can enjoy shopping for new products every week. The store fixtures have also been unified in a grid pattern in consideration of the way shoppers move about the interior of the store after entering. With the carefully designed store layout, customers can not only check out products closely, but also enjoy shopping more conveniently.
 
8Seconds is organizing a variety of events to celebrate the opening of its new COEX store. One of the events will be a catwalk installed in the store on which fashion models will be seen walking down dressed in this season’s best items. To be staged from 10 in the morning on the day of opening until the store closes at night, the catwalk will be an opportunity for shoppers to view items of interest this season.
 
Another event will be a photogenic award. Customers visiting the store on opening day will be photographed by a professional photographer. The photos will then be posted on the 8Seconds blog and Facebook page of which the most photogenic person will be selected and awarded an 8Seconds gift certificate worth KRW 500,000.
 
The store will also have an instant photo printer so that visitors can keep special memories of their day spent at the 8Seconds store. Moreover, a special event to take photographs with celebrities including Son Dam-bi, Gang Min-gyeong, Kim Na-yeong, Kim Ji-seok and Lee Su-hyeok will be held at 4:00 in the afternoon.
 
“Starting from the 8Seconds' COEX store, we will continuously expand our distribution and supply networks,” said 8Seconds’s Business Director (Managing Director) Kim Jeong-mi. “This year we will further strengthen our product power by increasing our business casual lines targeting customers in their 20s and 30s with purchasing power.”
