Samsung C&T expands support to fashion design fund
Commenced a fashion fund for
new designers and brands in Korea

Samsung C&T Fashion Group will expand its support to Samsung Fashion Design Fund (SFDF).
Samsung C&T Fashion Group announced on the 21st that, in addition to the SFDF started in 2005, they will launch ‘The 1st sfdf (small SFDF)’ with 100 million prize money to expand their support to the fashion industry.
Different from SFDF where they recruited globally active fashion designers, ‘The 1st sfdf’ focuses on designers and brands mostly active in Korea and the scope of application extends to clothing, bags, shoes, and lifestyle.
‘The 1st sfdf’ will begin its recruitment from its official website ( from the 27th of this month until the 7th of next month. Two separate screenings will be conducted by company experts by May to final 10 candidate teams and final screening, with public participation, will be held in June.
One team in the first place will win 30 million won, two teams in the second place will win 20 million won, respectively, and three teams in third place will win 10 million won, respectively.
In addition to the 100 million won prize, Samsung C&T Fashion Group will support the winning team to enter the Seoul Fashion Week and all prize winning teams will receive special benefit to use online and offline sales channels through SSF Shop and Beaker, official online malls of Samsung C&T Fashion Group, as well as marketing and business operation mentoring supports.
First launched in 2005, SFDF provided a total support fund of 2.9 million US dollars to 20 designers (excluding overlapping winners). It is undoubtedly the best design fund in Korea leading K-fashion through discovering new talents.
